Metta & Glyde Interview

Where are you right now and how is your week going?

We've just got back from an amazing weekend in Frankfurt, Germany, where we played for Talla 2XLC's event Trance Forever. Right now we're in the studio working on material for our forthcoming concept, FOCUS! We're really excited about the direction it's taking and can't wait to share it with our supporters.

What was the biggest highlight for you in 2023 and what does the rest of 2024 hold?

On the gig front, there were quite a few highlights in 2023. Unkonscious festival in Thailand, touring Australia and China were all amazing, but we'd say our set at Luminosity has to take top spot. The energy there was unreal! For the rest of 2024, we're looking forward to bringing our FOCUS! concept to stages around the world and we've got an  exciting collaboration in the pipeline that we can't wait to reveal.

Who are your top 3 producers of all time and in what ways have they inspired you?

This is a difficult question as we have so many inspirations in the scene. We'll have to give you six names: Old Times: JamX & DeLeon, Alphazone, Ferry Corsten. Recent Times: Sean Tyas, Darren Porter, Giuseppe Ottaviani. The old-school artists shaped our foundational sound and taught us the essence of trance, while the recent producers inspire us to push boundaries and stay current in the ever-evolving trance scene.

What is your favourite piece of software for music production?

It's very hard to narrow this down to one piece as we're kind of plugin junkies, haha! The obvious choice would be Ableton Live, as it’s our Daw of choice, but for recent plugins, we'd say Toneboosters Equalizer Pro is absolutely amazing and definitely worth checking out. It’s like Eventide’s Split EQ on steroids!
